My kit is not working, what shall I do?

In short: check our simple troubleshooting guideline.

Updated over 2 months ago

Most of the requests for help from our customers that have difficulties installing their kit can be solved by following a few simple steps.

Correct installation

Let's check if your solar kit has been installed correctly:

  • Have the panels been set up exposed to sunshine?

  • Are both MC4 cables of each panel solidly connected to the micro inverter? There should have been a "click" sound for each plug.

  • Is the micro inverter's LED light on?

  • Has the micro inverter been correctly connected to the network cable?

  • Has the network cable been fully plugged into a plug at home, that is not deactivated, switched off or otherwise not working properly?

If all these steps are done correctly and there is sunshine on your solar panels, the panels are generating power.

Connecting the micro inverter

Now let's verify if the micro inverter is properly working. You confirmed the physical cable connection in the previous step. Now check if the micro inverter is converting your panel's solar power. Check the color of your micro inverter's LED light:

  • If it is not on, the micro inverter's cables have not been connected properly

  • If it is red (solid or blinking) the micro inverter is connected, but not working. Check the micro inverter's installation manual to understand you model's status.

  • If it is green (solid or blinking) the micro inverter is connected, and working properly.

Check the micro inverter's installation manual to understand you model's status.

Downloading the app

The next step is to download your micro inverter's app from your mobile phone's app store. In most installation instructions there's a URL or QR code to do so.

Once the app has been installed, you need to register your account.

Once registered, you can log into the app, and add your micro inverter to your account. You will need the serial number or QR code of your micro inverter to do so. Most micro inverters have a sticker with this info on them, that you can easily peel off during installation and use later to configure your app.

Follow the simple steps in the app. Make sure you are in good range of your home's 2.4 GHz WiFi network with both your mobile phone and your micro inverter.

If your WiFi is weak where you plan to install your kit, consider installing a WiFi repeater nearby to strengthen the signal. For the first connection, you can also connect a panel to your micro inverter, and expose it to sunshine in a location with better WiFi signal. You can then configure it, and later set up the panel in it's intended location.

Raising an incident

If despite going though all of the above you cannot get your micro inverter to work, you can reach out to the manufacturer of the defective device or us. In any case, you will be asked about

  • Pictures describing the incident

  • Serial numbers of the devices involved

  • Color of the LED and if solid or blinking (in case of a micro inverter)

  • Error code (in case of a battery)

  • A description of the malfunction, so that a support engineer can reproduce the error and understand your situation.
